TODAY EXPRESS NEWS : Panchkula -August 25 – Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu said that engineers and architects should keep themselves abreast of the latest developments taking place in the field of technologies.

Mr Sandhu was speaking after inaugurating a one-day technical workshop on ‘Green Buildings and Construction Chemicals’ organized by Haryana Police Housing Corporation at Police Line, Moginand Panchkula.

He said that such kind of workshops should be organized on regular basis so that engineers and architects should exchange views and share their innovative experiences with each other. This will also help in designing better strategies for construction of low cost modern infrastructure for police forces. He suggested that  Department of Public Works (Building and Roads) should come forward and initiative in this direction.

Speaking on this occasion, Managing Director, Haryana Police Housing Corporation, Mr A.K. Dhull said that the Corporation had already constructed three green buildings in the state including HAREDA in Sector-17, Panchkula, State Vigilance Bureau in Sector-23 Panchkula and office of Commissioner of Police in Gurugram. In addition, three more green building would be got constructed in Panchkula in the time to come.

Chairman HPHC Mr Parminder Rai delivered his keynote address in the afternoon session of the workshop. During the workshop, presentations were also given by officers of the HPHC and others representatives of leading private companies.

Chief Architect, Mrs Lily Rai, Chief Engineer, Mr Sanjay Mahajan, Engineers and Architects of Public Works (Building and Roads), HSVP, Housing Board, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Public Health Engineering Department and representatives of private companies also attended the workshop.
