The chief secretary of Haryana clearly acknowledged,obesity is a progressive,chronic and complex disease affecting all ages and genders and It is strongly associated with over 250 other diseases, including diabetes,heart diseases,stroke and other non-communicable diseases..
He also expressed his serious concerns related to childhood obesity in India,which has transitioned from a looming risk to an emergency public health crisis and discussed about various prevention of obesity strategies which includes Inter-departmental co-ordination, grassroots implementation & policy execution along with monitoring..
Finally, Anurag Rastogi IAS, requested every Indian citizen to ‘say no to obesity’ by following a disciplined lifestyle backed by regular exercises along with right eating habits and participate in the nation building process as it ensures a healthy, productive and economically resilient workforce and reduces our nations healthcare burden,improve educational outcomes and bolster overall economic output.
