    SOS Children’s Villages of India receives award for Breakthrough Innovations in Sustainability & CSR

    TODAY EXPRESS NEWS ( AJAY VERMA ) New Delhi, December 14, 2017: All India Management Association (AIMA) awarded SOS Children’s Villages of India (SOS India) for Breakthrough Innovations in Sustainability & CSR, as part of its 7th edition of The Innovation Practitioner’s Summit, in the capital, today.

    The award recognised SOS India as an institution that has incorporated sustainable business practices as part of their system, and for adopting a unique approach to social development practices, thereby impacting communities.

    Speaking on the occasion, Ms Anuja Bansal, Secretary General, SOS Children’s Villages of India said, “SOS Children’s Villages of India has grown stronger over the years and we are glad that our work has also been recognised by policy makers across the nation due to its impact, scalability, replicability and sustainability. It is extremely important that all social development initiatives, whether by an NGO or a corporate, are sustainable in approach and operations. If corporations and social development sector strive together, while partnering with each other, communities can be benefitted in an absolute manner.”

    SOS India specialises in building loving families and ensuring sustainable and lasting impact on the lives of children who have lost parental care. Its unique Family Based Care (FBC) Model through been able to deinstitutionalise care and protection provided to these children.  It is the only child care organisation operating in India that has been recognized as providers of group foster care homes to parentless and abandoned children under the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ Act) of 2015.

    Some of the eminent guests present at the event included, Samir K. Brahmachari, Chief Mentor, Open Source Drug Discovery; Founder Director, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research -Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology; Former Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Akhil Bansal, Deputy CEO, KPMG India, and Neeraj Kapoor, Director, All India Management Association.
