Overall 1 in every 28 Indian women is likely to develop breast cancer in her lifetime. We are also now witnessing more and number of patients being diagnosed with breast cancer in relatively younger age groups such as women in their thirties and forties.”

Dr Dinesh Pandarkar, HOD of Sarvodaya Hospital quoted “The incidence rate begins to rise in the early thirties & peaks at the age of 50 to 64 years. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 1.5 lakh new cases of breast cancer have been reported in the year 2016 alone. Moreover, this is also turning out to be the most common cancer among women. Breast cancer accounts for 27 percent of all cancers among women in India. Since breast cancer is curable if diagnosed at an earlier stage & awareness is the only way to ensure early detection.
